At the International Choir Potsdam (“CIP”), May 1st is the day of our traditional bicycle tour. This year, we started at the garden of a choir friend in Babelsberg. The sun was very kind to us that day!
The route took us past Babelsberg Palace, Moorlake, the beautiful Peacock Island, to Wannsee, including a stop at the Kleist monument, and then back to Babelsberg via Steinstücken. We stopped at several places along the 26 km route, learned interesting facts about the places – and then enjoyed singing outdoors with our choir. It was a great pleasure to sing songs of spring and other songs from our current repertoire out in the green and by the water. The cuckoo accompanied us, and many other birds joined in with their melodies, as well as time and again a chance audience, curious and interested, who stopped to listen and to clap.
After returning to the garden in Babelsberg, we enjoyed the fantastic CIP brunch – the varied buffet prepared by the choir members is always a wonderful culinary surprise.
Those who were not yet lounging in the hammock or exhaustedly stretched out on the grass continued the choir rehearsal with our current repertoire – our next performance is coming up very soon!
